I think the reason why is answered simply with the following story. We all think of the “king of beasts” as the lion. The thing we fail to realize is that the “actual king of beasts” is the adult male elephant. There is no animal that will attack an adult male bull (as they are referred to). Whether it’s their huge tusks, the ability to crush you with their enormous legs and feet, the adult male elephant stands above all others. Interestingly enough though, a pride of lions together with team work and persistence, can and will successfully attack and take down an the “king of the beasts”. This is why I believe a team environment can be successful for both the team and the consumers.
If buyers and sellers understood that this is a huge industry and one that most agents take on by themselves. I find that someone that is sales, doesn’t really like nor is good at paperwork for example. The individuals that loves handling files and paperwork is also probably not the person that would be your high energy, client-facing employee either. So how is a consumer expected to best served by an individual agent? The team environment allows for each members skills to be used in a more effective way for the client. Why wouldn’t you want to put your best player into the correct position. It just really seemed to make sense to me when deciding to start a team.
